Associate Java-J2EE Developer
Brief description of position:
HMS is looking for innovative, exceptional developers with an enthusiasm for solving hard-to-crack problems. Our developers work on a variety of software including scientific data manipulation, web applications, advanced analytics platforms and internal tools.
This position reports to a Technical Lead with opportunities to share their creativity. Java, J2EE and Linux/Unix are important experience areas, but they are not required. Experience in Object-oriented design and all phases of the development life cycle are a plus.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (preferrably in Computer Science)
- Experience creating software applications using one or more of the following technologies: Java, J2EE, Ruby
- Experience with Linux or Unix
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Smart and creative problem solver
- Passion to add business value and create high quality software
- Enjoys all aspects of software development lifecycle
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with the gamut of J2EE technologies (EJB, Servlets, JSP, JMS, JDBC, JAAS)
- Experience with and enthusiasm for open-source technologies (e.g. JBoss, Tomcat, Hibernate, Struts, Maven)
- Experience in SQL programming
- Familiarity with GUI design and development
- Experience using test driven development and tools like JUnit
