Programmer Analyst (Product Engineering)
This position is a key member of the HMS Product Development team supporting HMS provider Master Files and Target solutions. The successful candidate is responsible for developing the methodologies required to build new and enhance existing products. The successful candidate will analyze potential data sources; develop and test algorithms, prototypes and technical specifications that will be utilized to build our commercial products. To be successful in this role the Programmer analyst must understand the business value of HMS’ solution and the impact design decisions will have on the usability, quality and value of the product.
Responsibilities:
*Serves the technical lead for the Product Development team by developing methodologies for new products and product extensions. Develops and test algorithms and technical specifications that will be utilized by the software development team to build the commercial product
*Analyzes the impact that new data sources will have on product availability; periodically assess the quality and impact of continuing to utilize existing sources. Publishes results and recommendations for changes.
*Analyzes data quality issues; indentifies root cause and remedies
*supports strategic sales and business development opportunities by serving as a subject matter expert on sales calls, constructs custom databases, designs and builds prototypes.
*Assists Client Services and responses to client questions, issues and requests.
*Works with the Project Management Office to develop and maintain project schedules; defines scope and estimates the level of effort to assist with release management. Provides periodic status updates throughout the project lifecycle, including risk escalation and problem resolution management.

information and or health-care claims data
*Strong analytical skills including
analysis, data collection, process mapping and troubleshooting for root cause
*Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in
:
- Linux and or Unix style OS
- Perl
- MS Access
- SQL programming; Oracle, Sybase
preferred.
