MasterFile Affiliations
Group practice relationships are difficult to track.
The rate of annual practitioner moves is in the double digits. As practitioners add new affiliations, move, or divide their time among multiple practices and facilities, it becomes increasingly difficult and inefficient to evaluate the value of an account.
And because providers are often lax about reporting affiliations changes, traditional methods of tracking affiliations have proven ineffective and unreliable.
Get the most from relationships.
HMS Affiliations MasterFile is engineered to deliver the most comprehensive view of all practitioner relationships–built from over 2,000 unique data sources, with approximately 10,000 monthly changes tracked across the practitioner population. The HMS Affiliations MasterFile provides Medical Device companies with the information required to ensure that patient information is sent to the correct provider at the correct location.
Continuously updated, comprehensive in coverage, consistently enumerated, and easily integrated into existing systems, HMS Affiliations MasterFile delivers the complex relationships of practitioners to the organizations where they work.
More accurate data means a competitive edge.
HMS’s affiliations are superior to our competitors whose affiliations are based on unreliable address and radius methodologies. For example, any doctor within 3 miles of a hospital’s physical address is considered affiliated.
Another area where HMS has an advantage is in medical claims data. Many of our competitors rely only on prescription claims to determine an affiliation. However, claims can be submitted for procedures and diagnoses for a health care practitioner at an organization even if a prescription is never written. The competition’s methodology results in “over-affiliating” at hospitals which could lead to poor business decisions.
HMS affiliations are built using authoritative data—not approximation. Contact us for more information.
