Health Market Science Appoints John Schultz as Executive Vice President of Sales

King of Prussia, PA — June 21, 2011 — Health Market Science (HMS), leading supplier of provider data and data management solutions, announced today that it has appointed John Schultz, executive vice president of sales for all HMS business units,  including  Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Payer and other Health Markets.

"His impressive track record of results and solid management experience across a wide range of commercial functions will enable him to accelerate and scale our sales efforts moving forward.”  

Schultz joins Health Market Science after serving as senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at MedAssurant, a fast-growing privately-held health technology firm.  Under his leadership, he developed an account-based sales organization and full-function marketing team to drive the company’s rapid growth. He also launched a new brand and recognition program to support new business development efforts.

Prior to MedAssurant, Schultz led sales and marketing organizations at IBM and IMS Health. He has managed sales organizations from 10 to more than 1,000 people, with revenue ranging from $100M to $3B in both the U.S. and European markets. He has direct selling experience in the pharmaceutical and payer spaces and is familiar with the broader healthcare terrain which will serve him well in his new role at HMS.

Schultz holds a B.A. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University.  He has served on several boards including Philabundance, a nonprofit food distribution system that reduces food waste and fights hunger in the Delaware Valley.
